Since I was a kid, I have always been fascinated and inspired by people with passion and sense of purpose. In childhood, I looked up to characters like Batman, Superman, Neo, and Luke Skywalker. They had a sense of purpose, a goal, something they were moving towards that they would stop at nothing to accomplish. When I started to play music, I realized it was my purpose, my goal, my calling, and that I wanted to follow that purpose to the ends of the earth.
For me, being a musician is alchemy, a type of magic that could bend the fabric of reality and could take me beyond the limits of myself. To me, musicians are samurais, shamans, masters of light fighting off the forces of darkness. That may sound pretentious and new agey, but who cares. I want to be a part of that and follow in the long line of musicians who have had a voice and a message, and expressed it to the world. To me it’s a noble profession and a discipline.
As a musician and composer, I wish to create different worlds, labyrinths, realities, states of being and consciousness, experiences, and transformations, in my music. Through the influence of different genres, instrumentations, ideological/structural frameworks, art forms, schools of thought, philosophies etc., I am pushing to create a unique voice within my music.
